Time study template: free, and an AI agent that reads every stopwatch reading for you
A one-page time study sheet: operation, part, operator and observer; up to 12 work elements with 8 cycle readings each, the average, the performance rating and the normal time; then the allowance and the standard time. Snap it and your AI agent reads every number.
How to fill it in.
1 · Break the job into elements
Short elements with clear start and end points. Write them down before you start timing.
2 · Time several cycles
Up to 8 readings per element. Note odd cycles at the bottom instead of throwing them away.
3 · Rate, add allowance, snap
Performance rating, allowance and standard time. Photo, review, and it goes into your plant memory.
From readings to standard time.
| Value | How it's calculated |
|---|---|
| Average | Sum of valid readings ÷ number of readings |
| Normal time | Average × rating ÷ 100 |
| Standard time | Total normal time × (1 + allowance %) |
| Units per hour | 3,600 ÷ standard time in seconds |
Nobody types up 96 stopwatch readings. The agent does.
The tedious part of a time study is getting the readings into a spreadsheet. The agent reads them, checks the averages and keeps every study, so you can compare the same operation before and after a kaizen.
All the readings
Every cycle reading for every element, in a spreadsheet.
Checks the math
Flags averages or standard times that don't match the readings.
Before and after
The same operation's standard time study after study.
What it does with your sheets.
Reads the table
Each element with its 8 readings, average, rating and normal time.
Exports
Everything to Excel in one click.
Answers
«What's the standard time for station 3 and how has it changed?»
What people usually ask.
Seconds or minutes?
Either: write the unit at the top. The agent reads it as written.
How many cycles should I time?
It depends on how variable the job is; 8 is a practical starting point for short cycles.
Can it read our own time study form?
Yes: snap it and the agent learns it from the first photo.
How much does it cost?
The template is free and trying the reading is free too, no sign-up.
