What people ask about digitizing the startup sheet
Do we have to stop using the paper sheet?
No. The sheet keeps being filled in the same way, in the same format and by the same person; the only thing added is a photo. Asking the technician to also key it into a terminal is what has made this attempt fail in many plants: it competes with machine downtime exactly when everybody is in a hurry to start.
Does it also pick up the pencil corrections?
They are precisely what interests us most. The printed values are the theoretical starting point; the handwritten corrections are the real adjustment that made the part come out right. That is the knowledge lost today when the technician who wrote it changes shift, and what turns the history into something useful for the next startup.
Do you touch the molding machine or the ERP?
The molding machine is not touched at all: Connect photographs paper, not signals. With the production system there is a read-only connection to know which order and mold are active and anchor the record. And nothing is written without prior human validation.
Does it work with different sheets per machine or per customer?
Yes, and that is the normal case. The model recognizes the structure of the document rather than relying on a fixed coordinate template, so it lives with different formats without asking anyone to standardize them first. Standardizing forms is a project in itself and we do not want it to be the prerequisite for this one.
How long before it is useful?
