The problem

One formula, three documents, six formats — and a spreadsheet behind each of them.

Modern decorative paint is not sold in a single box: the same formula reaches the shelf in a 0.75 L can, 4 L, 15 L and an industrial drum; in six different languages depending on the market; and, if it wants the green sticker, with an EU Ecolabel dossier documenting VOCs, biocides, excluded substances, hiding power and packaging. Each of those documents lives on its own island:

1. The master formula — in the ERP, or in a PLM sheet that only the R&D manager updates.
2. The SDS — in a vertical SDS authoring system, copied from the last version whenever someone remembers.
3. The GHS label — with the graphic designer who builds the artwork for the packaging printer.
4. The Ecolabel dossier — in a Word file with loose annexes, reviewed each time Decision (EU) 2014/312 is renewed.

When a biocide is substituted or a pigment is adjusted, somebody has to update all four islands at once, across six formats and several languages. If one of them falls behind, the SKU's release is blocked — or, worse, it reaches the shelf with an inconsistency between SDS and label that the enforcement body finds before you do. The classic system works 95% of the time. That 5% is the labeling recall.

How it fits the IRIS system

H/P statements come from the official source, never invented.

“What if the AI invents an H/P statement or gets an Ecolabel excluded substance wrong?” — hallucination is a problem of free generation, not of anchored tasks. Writer does not draft freely: it recontextualizes a piece of data (component → official CLP H/P statement, component → applicable Ecolabel criterion). In anchored tasks, the best models brought error below 1.5% ^[1]. And even so, what is critical is never decided alone: the document does not go out without Regulatory's signature. The three safety rings exist precisely for this.
