Nothing enters the central system without a human validating it

What sets iLEAN apart from an "autonomous" AI agent that enters data unsigned is this: nothing it captures enters the central system without a human seeing it first. In a switchgear factory, that shows up as a tablet on the line with two buttons.

The problem

The real blocker in a mission-critical plant is distrust, not technology.

The fear that AI will "enter data on its own and someone will have to clean up the ERP master later" is the main cultural blocker in a mission-critical equipment plant, where one bad entry can end up on a unit installed in a data center.

  • The first question in a switchgear or UPS plant is always the same: will the AI enter data on its own and leave someone to clean the ERP master later?
  • In this industry the fear is justified. One wrong rating, serial or breaker lot can end up on a nameplate, in a FAT dossier and on a unit energized inside a data center.
  • So plants go to one of two extremes: unvalidated data that slowly contaminates the master, or data never captured at all because nobody trusts where it came from. Neither is a decision anyone made; both are what happens by default.
  • Both are expensive. The first one shows up at the FAT or in the field; the second one leaves traceability exactly where it was, in binders and in people's memory. And the AI project gets blamed for both.
How it fits the IRIS system

Connect with early human verification — two taps on the line tablet before anything enters.

Connect's early human verification mode. When iLEAN parses a traveler, when the supervisor dictates an incident, when a supplier alert arrives — it all shows up on the line tablet as a 2-second visual summary. The technician confirms with two taps: ✓ enters the ERP, ✏️ fix before it enters.

This is what separates iLEAN from an autonomous agent: nothing it captures enters the central system unseen. A two-second summary, one tap to confirm, one tap to fix, and the master stays clean without slowing the line. It is also what lets quality sign off every other case on this page.

Unvalidated data contaminating the ERP, or data left uncaptured out of distrust → data captured and validated at second-level latency, master stays clean.

Impact estimate

Two-tap verification: the enabling piece, without its own payback.

The block below is an estimate to be validated against your plant's actual data. We put it forward so the committee has an order of magnitude; we refine it during the assessment.

  • No standalone payback: it is the enabling piece of the whole matrix and we do not attach a figure to it on its own.
  • Without it, none of the other 11 cases gets signed off by quality in a critical-equipment plant, however good its business case looks.
  • Data moves from unvalidated or uncaptured to captured and validated at second-level latency, and the ERP master stays clean.
  • Its return shows up inside the other cases: every payback on this page assumes this check exists and that people trust what reaches the ERP.

Strategic value — the enabling piece of the entire iLEAN matrix; without it, none of the other 11 pieces get signed off in a critical-equipment plant. *Not directly monetizable.*

And the fair question from the production manager

“If a person confirms everything anyway, what is the AI saving?” — the reading, which is the slow part. Extracting fields from a traveler, a delivery note or a dictated note is an anchored task, where the best models drop below 1.5% error [1]; the technician no longer types, they only look at a two-second summary and confirm or fix. Typing a serial takes a minute and fails silently; checking one takes two seconds and leaves a trace.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask about two-tap verification on a switchgear line

How much line time does each confirmation take?

About two seconds. The summary shows only the fields that matter for that capture, such as serial, rating, lot or torque, so the technician reads and taps without leaving the station. On a busy line that is less time than finding a pen.

Could iLEAN be configured to write into the ERP without a person?

Not in this setup. Writing to the master always requires a confirmation, which is precisely what makes quality willing to approve the rest. In a plant that ships equipment into data centers, that rule is the price of entry, not a limitation.

What happens when the technician taps fix?

The field opens for correction, the corrected value is what enters the ERP, and the correction is logged so the reading can improve. The original capture is kept for the audit trail, so an auditor can see both what was read and what the technician decided.

Which captures pass through the line tablet?

All of them: travelers, supervisor notes, supplier alerts, lab results and receiving documents. Each one reaches the role that can judge it, not a generic queue: the technician sees the traveler, the receiving lead sees the delivery note, the lab validator sees the results.

Does two-tap verification have to go live before the traveler or receiving cases?

It goes in with the first case, whichever that is, because without it nothing captured is allowed into the ERP. It is not a separate project, it is part of every deployment.
