Frequently asked questions

What people ask about reading the foaming carousel's panel

Does it affect the warranty or the validated state of the process?

No, and that is the whole design: nothing is installed on the machine, no port is opened and its network is never touched. The builder has nothing to object to because nothing of theirs changes.

Is the data per mold or per carousel?

Per mold and per cycle. The panel already shows each mold's temperature; what was missing is somebody keeping it, so a void on wheel number twelve can be traced to what mold twelve was doing on that cycle.

Does it capture the alarms as well?

Yes. Alarms are the part of the screen that gets acknowledged and forgotten fastest, and they end up in the same time series as the parameters, with the order that was running.

How does it know which order was on the carousel?

By cross-referencing the capture with the MES or ERP order that was live at that moment. That is what turns a temperature reading into a lot of steering wheels, and a drift into a list of the wheels that were foamed while it lasted.

Does the same work for other old machines in the plant?
